I better update the story so far..
After my failed attempt to get the Mt Gambier Hospital to give me some antibiotics. The next day my face started to visibly blow up with infection. I again had to attend Mt Gambier Hospital. After waiting in emergency room I eventually saw another Doctor who determined that the infection had reached the sinis on the right side of my face. So Stephylex 500 mg was given to me. The next morning my face was no better. The swelling had become worse. So I managed to get an emergency appointment at the Millicent Medical Center. Where I was perscribed a course of Metronide 400 mg. I was told to not bother with the Stephylex 500 mg because It wouldn't work. I finished the course of Metronide 400 mg as instructed. Within 2 days the swelling had diminished.
I contacted a Director of the Mount Gambier Hospital to complain about the way I had been treated. I pointed out that I had wasted $70 in fuel alone attending the Mount Gambier Hospital without being given effective treatment. I advised that as an unemployed single parent. I cannot afford to loose $70 from my budget without having an appropriate outcome. I suggested that they should at least refund me for the $70 I wasted in fuel. I also suggested that there should be a proceedure in place to refer unhappy clients to another Doctor for treatment if they requested it. The person I was talking to seemed to suggest that there was already some kind of safeguards in place. However, as I pointed out, If that was the case. Why did I walk away without medication on the first visit? The second visit where I was given Staphylex 500? (That proved ineffectual)
