I took the plunge and purchased a Kodak z650 camera from ebay. I was lucky enough to get one for $83, “in the box” with all cords and original paperwork. (receipt) etc..

The z650 is a 6.1 megapixal with 10 x zoom. It can handle up to iso 800 (in 1.7 megapixel mode).. So very low light images are possible. However this unit doesn’t have the anti-shake technology of later cameras. So a high shutter speed in high light (or a tripod..) is mostly required.

See: Cameras.co.uk

“Verdict: The Kodak Easyshare Z650 is a fairly solid option. Its ease of use makes it a good choice for anyone who is relatively new to photography and is looking for a camera with manual exposure controls and a long zoom lens.”

Sounds perfect! :)

This camera will allow me to contribute far better quality images to these pages in future.

A picture tells 1000 words.. (So they say..) Some examples from the Kodak z650 (without a tripod..)
